BrightBuilt is an open source collaborative of green building professionals designing sustainable solutions for the 21st Century. The first project, BrightBuilt Barn, is an internationally acclaimed, triple net-zero, LEED Platinum Certified home in Rockport, Maine. Built in 2008, the Barn is one of the only buildings in the world designed to be truly carbon neutral. The second initiative, BrightBuilt Retrofit, tackles the challenges of existing inefficient buildings by demonstrating innovative, practical and affordable approaches to deep energy retrofits in colder climates. All BrightBuilt initiatives are open source, and we invite you to follow the progress and join in the discussion.
