Process

Opening Deposit $2500

This deposit will accompany a signed contract to cover services offered in the first phase of the contract as well as confirming your spot in Bensonwood’s production schedule.

Schematic Design

Kaplan Thompson Architects will work with you to make the first round of decisions about your BrightBuilt Barn. We’ll help you decide which floor plan will work best for you and which interior and exterior options will work to meet your programmatic and budget needs. Ultimately, we’ll develop a specifications document with all of your selections and the resulting price.

Site Prep

We will need you to provide us with as much information as you have about your site and any unique local conditions. We will then make small modifications to the standard foundation plan, so that you can have the foundation prepared before your BrightBuilt Barn arrives.

Permits

You will also want to be talking to your local Code Enforcement Officer to determine what zoning and building permits may be needed. We will provide you with a set of plans and specifications to be submitted for permit.

Renewables Prep

This is the time to be talking to your local renewables provider about xxx and about applicable rebates for your location. You can also check out www.dsireusa.org for a state by state list of incentives and policies which promote renewable energy and energy efficiency.

General Contractor

Many clients find that engaging a GC (General Contractor) to coordinate the work in this phase is very helpful. The GC can also oversee any finishing of the BBB you purchase, if you do not purchase a fully finished option.

Pre Construction Deposit 50% of Contract Price Minus Opening Deposit

This deposit allows Bensonwood to start production of your BrightBuilt Barn based on the specifications developed. You will be provided with a timeline for production and delivery of your BBB. The balance of your bill can be paid at any time between fabrication and the first day of site delivery.
